I agree, most of today's productivity applications use DirectX and D3D
in one fashion or another
be it sound, video, input or Direct3D.... In the long run I see this
as only helping productivity
applications. Also if you have a XP/Vista install remove DirectX from
it and see the crippling effects
of not having it.
