[cw-discuss] Quicken 7 does not see IE6

Hello!
CrossOver contains a component called 'CrossOver HTML engine' which
replaces many of the OS functions that IE provides. When you install
IE, it clobbers the CrossOver engine and, in many situations, works
worse than cxHTML.
So, when installing Quicken 2007, the best approach is:
1) Create a new win2000 bottle
2) Install Quicken 2007 into that bottle
3) Stop! Do not install IE!
When you do that, it works moderately well. Some banks I can access,
and some I can't.
Currently for my personal banking I use Quicken 2006 which does a good
job of bridging the gap -- it can be installed in a win98 bottle,
integrates well with IE6, and can talk to banks which have discontinued
support for older versions of Quicken. Quicken 2006 (and 2005 which
works equally well) can generally be found for around $20 on Amazon or
at half-priced books. So, for those of you upgrading, that's what I'd
recommend. We're working hard on Quicken 2007 support here, but so far
it isn't nearly as stable or useful as the previous two versions.
(Strangely, one bank that I use only supports Quicken versions 2004 and
earlier. So there's really no way to win this game :( )
