I'm not sure I follow what you mean by 'marked inactive' - can
you send along a screen show (you can send it to me privately or
post a link, so as to save on bandwidth to the list).

Also, what happens if you run
  /opt/cxoffice/bin/wine --wl-app notepad
Can that print okay?

CrossOver should pick up whatever CUPS printers you have in your
system.
