To date, I can install TaxCut2007, and I can run it.... but I can't
use it.
Problems:
1) it cannot check for updates on the internet, and without checking
it assumes that updates are necessary.
2) it cannot perform an update.
3) it cannot download the state program.
4) movies don't work
Things that work:
1) installation
2) all forms, questionnaires, printing, ...but have a big black
diagonal bar saying: PRELIMINARY DO NOT FILE.. or some such.
3) browsing the TaxCut website using Gecko
There is no need to install CXoffice as root. Everything in
TaxCut *2006* works perfectly, including updates and state forms.
I am certain that if TaxCut2007 could get to the internet by way of
its windozey methods everything else would work just fine.
John may have something with his thoughts about CX's simulation of
Windows Administrator mode. TaxCut2007 won't install properly on
XP pro without having administrator privileges.
