[cw-discuss] xmessage causing delay

Whenever I run a command as root the x message comes up which says "are you
sure you want to run as root". I am used to this and it used to run fine,
but now I find it is very slow. I have to wait a minute or so for it to pop
up. If I click the always continue option then the window doesn't come up
and everything goes fast.
The reason I am mentioning this is I have another program that is getting
delayed by another xwindow which says "input output error".

Is there anyway to speed up the x message? Is there something I could do to
fix it or is it a bug?
It is very hard to debug the program I want to run when I have to wait a
minute or so every time I start the program.
