No, I am specifically talking about those instruction. You can enter them,
and then for before 6.1 version, a dialog box came for authentication. Enter
username and password there, and nothing happens, and authentication dialog
again returns. So you can keep typing password over and over again until you
stop doing it due to frustration.

Regarding NTLM Authentication: My proxy server uses squid/2.6.STABLE4. I
don't thing they use that thing.

Infact, you can run any other application/OS(even wget on Damn Small Linux),
after you have correct network setting. Even Wine can download its html
engine.

PS: I just checked and 6.2 is working. It is able to download fonts and DCOM
components by itself. But when IE Setup tries to download  files, it
complains that installer is corrupt.
