[cw-discuss] What does Type Mismatch mean?

If you are programming that means you start banging your head against
the desk and break out debug, strace, etc...If you aren't than you
report it to someone who does do the programming. Codeweavers has a
method whereby you can report a non functional unsupported app (I
believe you will find that yours isn't "officially" supported) which
is listed below in their typical response. They unfortunately have to
focus a little more on some apps than others since they help pay more
of the bills (MS Office Suite is a big one).
Here is a response, from codeweavers database, to another customer who
had a problem very similar to yours. It may be helpful in your
situation:
"I apologize, but we may not be able to help you with unsupported software. We
focus primarily on our supported applications which are listed here:
http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/
Please note that it has to have a CodeWeavers rank of Bronze or better to be
considered supported.
We have a separate system for evaluating and improving unsupported applications
called the Compatibility Center, and you can check it out here:
http://c4.codeweavers.com/
The Compatibility Center improves our ability to be able to sort and triage
applications for which we currently don't offer support, as well as providing a
community for the development of programs to work under Crossover. This is also
where our user base provides feedback on which unsupported applications they'd
like us to support in the future. If your application isn't listed in C4, then
feel free to add it to the system to get gears turning. If it *is* in C4,
please feel free to pledge support or time to help us get that application
running.
Additionally, if you are willing to send us a copy of the application, we would
love to have it, and would add it to our applications to work on. We like to
have these so that we can work to make as many programs as possible install and
run. However, I don't want to mislead you - sending us the application won't
guarantee any kind of instant response; it's a pretty long list, and we do try
to respond to issues around supported applications first. Note that we would
need you to send us a fully licensed copy that we would be free to keep; I know
that may be a challenge. You can simply send it to the address listed here:
http://www.codeweavers.com/about/general/contact_us/
If your need for a specific application to work smoothly with CrossOver is
urgent, please note that we do also take on service engagements to get specific
applications up, running, and supported. Those services are described here:
http://www.codeweavers.com/services/
Finally, if you would like, I can give you access to our beta center so you can
try new releases as they come out to see if they work any better."
