I would much prefer to keep this an email list - I don't like having to go
to a website to view these threads, I have an email client running already
so why not use it?   As pointed out by others google desktop (or other
mechanisms) provide a superior search experience to that of any forums.   If
you do move to the web interface I believe there exist gateway mechanisms
that would allow forum traffic to be emailed out and to receive email
submissions which might keep myself and other email advocates happy while
also pleasing those who prefer to look at a forum style interface.

Hello everyone. We are curious how many of you like the idea of
switching this discuss mailing list to a web based forum.

We recently added the ability to subscribe to forums via the website.
Granted this is currently one way, you will receive emails of forum
posts, but to reply you will need to follow the link in the email.

This is a pretty divided issue. Some prefer web, some prefer email. I'm
leaning more towards web these days as I find it easier to search and
navigate old posts on the website.
