[cw-discuss] troubleshooting a non-installing program

I have tried to install a windows program without success.  The 
installer exits not too long after starting.  Are there any steps to 
take to determine what is causing the installation to fail?

I have another program that exits on the error that Windows XP SP2 is 
needed to install this program.  I there any way to determine what's 
causing this to happen, and what might one do to fix the problem to get 
it to install?
