OK, I now see why you're looking at Crossover as the culprit. :)

I'll admit I've seen a lot of flashing decorations with Wine in the 
past, but Crossover has been a lot more solid in that respect 
(especially when comparing IE on Wine vs. on Crossover).  One last 
question just because I'm curious - what kind of monitor do you have 
attached and what resolution / refresh rate are you driving it at?  
Perhaps this is something I'm not seeing because I'm running an LCD 
monitor connected by DVI (although I admit that's an unlikely possibility).
