For the flickering.

!What distribution are you running?
Gentoo

!What kind of video card are you using?
Intel I915, Using the latest X11 driver according too newly synced portage.

!Does the behavior occur even if Beryl / Compiz is disabled?
Yes

!Do non-Wine / Crossover windows cause the flickering when maximizing and
!closing windows?
No. The behavior is only when opening Crossover applications or windows applications installed in a bottle (mainly the Office 2003 suite) and it does only affect the external monitor.

Best regards
Emil

A few questions for thought:

What distribution are you running?
What kind of video card are you using?
Does the behavior occur even if Beryl / Compiz is disabled?
Do non-Wine / Crossover windows cause the flickering when maximizing and
closing windows?

As far as the window becoming transparent when you restore Outlook, I've
seen nearly the same thing (lots of black windows instead of
transparent). I'm running Compiz Fusion, so I just execute compiz
--replace which usually resolves the problem.

Anyway, I'd suggest doing some experimentation based on the questions
above (ensure you have the latest drivers for your video card, find out
if this is really a Wine problem or a Beryl problem, etc.). Best of luck,

A.C.
