Even if it worked right, after being initially impressed by the demo, I 
think it's a hideous idea when usability is the main consideration. 3D 
is OK in many respects, but not done like this modern implementation of 
flickering lamps on the old mainframes or tapes whizzing around on the 
old tape units - at least they displayed useful diagnostic information. 
Stuff like mobile texting and IRC also painfully remind me of old 
clanking teletypes and a giant step backwards.
