KDE with Beryl is hideous. the desktop pager doesnt work like it
should, there's a hack to get it to work but even that hack isnt stable.
i found sometimes VLC would not show a video...sometimes it would...
Windows media Player had the same problem... Beryl makes firefox run
painfully slow! same Java apps display a blank window... etc... of
course most things have work arounds... i still find it unusable!
disable Compiz/Beryl... everything works again...

Beryl *IS* pretty... especially to show off to Windoze l-users.
but if you want to actually *do* work, disable Compiz/Beryl and
everything will work as expected.
