If a Windows application just requests that CrossOver open a given URL
in a browser, then by default we will open it in a native browser (i.e.
a Mac OS X or Linux browser). It's also possible to have such URLs be
sent to Internet Explorer, and it may also happen if IE set itself up as
the default Windows browser. In any case this is configurable either wat
in the bottle options in CrossOver Setup.

When a Windows application tries to display a web page itself, typically
in one of its windows, then it's a completely different matter.
Generally they do so by loading the dll that does the web page rendering
in Internet Explorer. In that case things cannot be handed off to a
native browser. So in this case the rendering is either handled by the
'CrossOver HTML Engine' or by Internet Explorer itself if you installed it.
