[cw-discuss] When will CrossOver be XP based

Actually, we strongly recommend that any application that
request IE be instead given the 'CrossOver HTML Engine'
package.

There is a good chance (and an increasing chance) that that
will make applications happy.  And when it does, that should
work more smoothly than IE itself.  (The CrossOver HTML
Engine is a copy of Firefox wrapped to behave like IE 
for Windows applications).

If that doesn't work, then installing IE may help an application.
However, it's not easy to categorize exactly why that is.

Sometimes the application has a direct dependence on IE
and so it genuinely requires it.  Sometimes the application benefits
from the use of some of the DLLs that IE uses.

I'm just hoping that someday this is all a bad memory
because the CrossOver HTML engine works perfectly
every time <grin>.
