[cw-discuss] GNOME menu problem (Debian Etch)

I am a regular user of Debian Sarge and IceWM, but I am preparing to
switch to Debian Etch and Gnome, so I've installed CrossOver Pro in managed
multi-user mode (this feature is essential for me) from the Debian
package on the Etch partition. 

When installing Windows applications I have various problems with Gnome
menu. In this posting I will focus on one of them:

        - when I click on the appropriate item of Windows Applications
          menu, there is some hard disk activity for a moment, but
          that is all: the application doesn't start, there is no
          error message.

        - when I use Run Windows Applications and select the
          appropriate executable, the application runs correctly.

What can I do to diagnose the problem? Please note I have practically
no experience with Gnome and Gnome's menus.
