This seems to work except for what appears to be an extreme performance hit on 
teh database I am using (foxbase). It is much slower than the vm session. I 
will have to get it setup on a desktop machine now instead of just the laptop 
so I have a 100base T to see it it is the 802.11G wireless or just the system 
in general. I know er only have one lan cable running between 2 routers, and 
probably need to upgrade that but I was hoping for a performance increase 
over the vmware session not the other way around. The software itself seems 
to be faster in cxoffice, but the network performance is a real hit. 
I will also have to try on teh win2003 server and see if it is any different 
over my freebsd samba server.
on teh freesmb box it may help to use nfs and mount that way over samba?
