[cw-discuss] Fedora 7 Sound "cacheing" and syslog messages

Greetings:

I have jumped back to Linux (after being forced from my Suse Install due
to Evolution bug).  I purchased Crossover in the past and enjoyed the
polish it brought to the WINE product. I believe the polish well worth
the ~$50 ,  BUT..... before I make the new purchase I have a few issues
which I would like to address before my evaluation is up.


1)	I have requested for a few weeks now to take "Advocate" status
of one of my primary issues with my Linux jump... IPSoftphone from
Avaya.

a.	I have not received any response back
b.	I would like to find someone who could possible give me some
direction in constructing the missing TAPI devices for such an
interface.
			
2)	I have installed Microsoft Office 2003 (I needed 2003 due to
document compatibility with some home grown tools around here. 
a.	Install went fine but I am getting errors in my system where it
queues up the 'mail arrived' beeps when other devise are using the
audio. This eventually locks up audio till I close out all but Outlook
and let it run several dozen 'popups' that it could not use device
/dev/dsp 
b.	Error from the above issue are being broadcast via 'syslog' and
so clutters the console.
c.	Can I disable all sound functions of Outlook?

3)	Are their any resources besides the few hits on the Crossover
site for getting .NET version 1.x up and working. I tried several
things.  This is a base requirement for the IBM configuration tool SSCT
which (besides the IPSoftphone) is my last application I have to
maintain a VMWare instance up for.
