Huh.  That's a new one.  But I wonder if it's not important, because...

I'm afraid that's a known issue; Apple will not let the old version of
iTunes use the store.  We recognize that makes iTunes nearly useless;
we're working on supporting the latest versions of iTunes, but that
work is very difficult and very slow going.
