I've installed the recommended version of itunes and am having two 
different problems.  Once the application opens, if I select a drop down 
menu from the tool bar, the menu shows momentarily then goes away.  I'm 
unable to select anything.

The second problem is when I try to go to the Itunes store, it says I 
don't have a network connection.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've tried this on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5, same results.
