Yes, I remember coming across it on some search.
I think it converts into TeX/LaTeX => PDF (or TeX/LaTeX => DVI => PDF,
so I think you have to have some TeX stuff installed. Which I
incidentally do in Linux. But I don't know how well it handles some of
the extra stuff you can put into FM with the diverse plugins etc.
Also, I don't have much time to spend on it.
Simple conversions of TeX/LaTeX to dvi/pdf take much more time than
the plain distilling of Distiller under Windoze, so I am afraid that
the full process will be time consuming. My experience is mostly
through the use of LilyPond sheet music engraving app. which is based
on TeX, but also minor tests with LaTeX.
