[cw-discuss] CrossOver Installation Error

hi!  i downloaded the crossover trial version and tried to install it in my
ubuntu 6.10 machine.  however, this message appeared:

"gedit has not been able to detect the character coding.
Please check that you are not trying to open a binary file.
Select a character coding from the menu and try again."

probably the installed does not have 'x' flag set (execute). so the desktop
environment tries to open it in editor.  the crossover installer package
seems to be a self-ectracting shell archive.

so from the terminal, i typed the following below:

$ sh Desk....demo.6.0.0.sh              # run it using default shell
or
$ chmod +x Desk...demo.sh               # set execute bit
$ ./Desk.....sh                         # run it


yet, still it can't open the desk...demo.6.0.0.sh

hope you could send the files needed provided with the clear procedure on
how to install it.
