Richard,
I had this problem here (Quicktime 7 sometimes showing the welcome
screen and sometimes it's showing a small window so I need to kill
it).
If you're using KDE, the box that surrounds the termination program
("Terminate windows applications") has in it's top left a small
down-arrow icon (to minimize the window, switch it to another virtual
desktop etc...) - click this down-arrow, select "Advanced" and select
"Keep Above others". That way it will be above the stuck windows
application and you can kill it with a click.
You can also use a command line: simply run: ~/cxoffice/bin/cxreset
--all-wine to have the same effect.
Thanks,
Hetz
