I think there is a way to use remote filesystems like you are trying to do.
First it involves mounting the remote share to some place on the Linux
filesystem.
Then, depending on how you want it to appear to the Wine environment,
you might be able to just assign that mount point a drive letter under
the /opt/cxoffice/support/*/dosdevices/ folder.
Google keywords to search for:
wine dosdevices "symbolic link" "network share" UNC
I have a soft spot for fire departments trying to use Open Source.
I used to be a systems admin for a Police/Fire unit here is Wisconsin.
