[cw-discuss] installation questions - desktop reconfiguration on local machine

Hi Jerry,

I have to confess that I am as puzzled by this as you are.

As far as I know, if you are doing something like

  ssh -X <remote-machine>

then nothing that happens after that should impact your
local machine at all.

Can you explain more as to how you are connecting from
one machine to the other?

Also, I wonder if you've somehow gotten tripped up,
and you do have a copy of CrossOver on the local machine?
(Likely places to check are /opt/cxoffice and
~/cxoffice).

One possibilty I can imagine is that if you installed
it to a shared network drive, you may have thought
you were launching it on the remote machine, when
in fact, you were launching it locally.

I hope some of that helps.

Cheers,

Jeremy
