I was in pretty much the same boat. I started using Quicken in '92. I
had Quicken 2004 running under CXO. When my bank started to send me
emails saying that they weren't going to support 2004, I switched to
KMyMoney. It does everything that I needed from Quicken and I have
investments that I track as well as bank accounts. I exported all my
data in .qif files and imported it to KMyMoney and never looked back.
About the only thing that KMyMoney doesn't do yet is to do online bill
pay. It does download transactions in Quicken format and does download
current security prices. And you will be quite at home in the user
interface.
One of the things that frustrated me about Quicken was that every new
version did things differently. It always took me months to figure out
how to do something in each new version.
