Last I checked (6.1.0), it installs fine but it's too slow to be
usable, but it may be better now, you should try it out.

There's really no need for that. There are already many native PDF
printers under Linux: KDE provides a PDF printer, CUPS provides a PDF
printer, etc... Wine/Crossover can use them directly.
(I assume you're on Linux because your email headers report KMail as
your mail client)
