Considering the fact that Widows still cannot change their old image of a OS
that is crashing all the time. It's unlikely to change until a decade has at
least passed.

It's either possible for the user to do something or it isn't. They don't want
to hear how in theory they could do it because the feature is sort of already
there.

I find GIMP works for me most of the time because I know it better and I
cannot afford a copy of Photoshop, which I barely know how to use.

But at the end of the day, I am not a graphics artist.

I know people who are into graphics, the major complaint I keep hearing is
that GIMP's UI is difficult to use, particularly because Windows doesn't
manage the windows nicely, you can't set some specific ones on-top, or stick
it on a specific virtual desktop and so on. The other issue I hear of is lack
of features, more specifically the 'coming soon' features (which we've been
waiting for years on) such as layer effects.

Another issue is that they're more familiar with Photoshop and relearning a
new UI that doesn't even reach the same functionality as to what they're used
is pointless in their opinion and I agree with them.

The situation is that it is needed now, not later. I cannot recommend the Gimp
in it's current state in good faith.

I am happy with the Gimp, as are others. But some people really require some
of Photoshop's features which the Gimp does not have at this moment in time.
It won't change anything to say it's 'coming soon', it's been 'coming soon'
for years.
