Is there something special about Photoshop that is not in The GIMP?

I've found that if you first install The GIMP and then GIMPshop (which
changes the menu structure of The GIMP to make it as near Photoshop as
can be, you can use explanatory software - the type that comes with
photography magazines - quite easily. You can install PS extensions
(which surprised me).

As far as I know there are bugs on PF CS3 which prevent it being
installed through cw, so you're better off using The GIMP + GIMPshop.

I know that's not what you asked by perhaps its an alternative answer
for your problem - and at the price of Photoshop, its worth looking at!
