Yoiks.  That sounds quite awful.  Could you get a ticket
entered into the system and let me know the id once it's in
(you can send it to me privately if you like).

Good things to try are using the 'Reset CrossOver' tool
(cxoffice/bin/cxreset) to quit and/or 'Force Quit' all
CrossOver processes.  The key is that there should be no
processes with Outlook or wine in any part of their name
when it's done.

Conceivably, if you've kill -9'd the wine server at some
point, you could have a stale socket that the server is
choking on.

A reboot may clear that; you can also do this:
  cxoffice/bin/outlook --cx-log <your-file-here> --debugmsg +warn
and then there may be an indication in that file of what is
causing the trouble.
