Hi I'm trying to get Live_muf to run.
It unpacks OK, but CX drops it when the executable is run.
Unpacking it with wine and attempting to run the same executable
it says it wants mono
[root at gb7tf Live_MUF_V72]# wine Live_MUF.exe
install the Windows version of Mono to run .NET executables
On his web site after the usual disclaimers is this:-
"If after reading the above you still wish to try this then please make
sure you have at least Windows 98 with a minimum of MDAC 2.5 (2.8
recommended..) and you have the Microsoft .net framework 2 installed
(available from Microsoft Updates or .Net Framework Downloads or
alternatively from here (only english and not for a 64bit cpu, for DL
32bit version click here, for 64bit and other languages on MS site go
here) but I prefer you use windows update to get the latest version as
this could be out of date or other things might need to be updated
first!). NOTE: LIVE MUF V7 WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU INSTALL .NET
FRAMEWORK 2, YOU MUST INSTALL THIS BEFORE INSTALLING LIVE MUF..
To be sure have a look on the .net framework requirements page.
The main package is live_mufv7.exe, just D/L and install to wherever you
want to run the app."
Next step was to load mono in to the wine directory,
a few errors:-
[root at gb7tf Download]# wine mono-1.2.3.1-gtksharp-2.8.3-win32-0.exe

next try to run live_muf:-
[root at gb7tf Live_MUF_V72]# wine Live_MUF.exe
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x61e5c0,0x00000000), stub!
and also the warning box with "GetThreadContext failed"
I'd like to get this app running as its very useful for tracking
sporadic E propagation in the summer season.
I also know a few Hams that would like to run Linux but need apps like
this one, so stay on winblows.
Reading the requirements I've loaded .NET , but having problems with
MDAC, when the file is unzipped CX says there is a virus, running fprot
on the same directory yields no virus.
Suggestions where next ????
