Yeah, I'm familiar with w3schools. Unfortunately, I think that's
nearly as unreasonable an estimation as the statistics of
msn.com (the IE start page) would be. From the site itself:
"W3Schools is a website for people with an interest for web
technologies. These people are more interested in using
alternative browsers than the average user. The average user
tends to use Internet Explorer, since it comes preinstalled with
Windows. Most do not seek out other browsers."
Statistics taken from a wide variety of sites, both technical and
non-technical, are probably more reliable than single-site
measurements.
Anyway, more interesting to this list should be the OS statistics
further down, since I think a lot of cxoffice users are also at
least occasional web developers. It shows that among w3schools
visitors, the share of Mac and Linux users has almost doubled in
the last 3 years. That should be good news for Jeremy and co.
if they weren't already aware of it.
