Sure, but Windows Media player is a whole further range of issues.
For one thing, WMP (the application) isn't really a stand alone
program; it's just a front end to a lot of Windows specific DLLS.
So implementing support for WMP in Wine means, essentially, rewriting WMP -
something we do not have the resources for.

So while it seems simple - 'just support IE' - what people are really
asking is a lot more complex than that.

Further, I have a moral issue with pushing IE; that is, I feel
strongly that any web site designer that makes a web site that doesn't
work in Firefox (at least) should be taken out and shot, and I don't
care to reduce the pressure on web site designers one iota.  Not
to mention that I'm sure many people haven't really thought about
whether or not they have a license to use IE...

With all that said, I recognize that doing what your customers ask
you to do is one of those basic things...
