Hi Doug,

You've got it dead on.  We only dub something 'supported' if we
personally test and validate that application before a release.
Obviously, with our limited staff, that limits the number of
applications we can officially support, even though many other
applications run perfectly well.

We really appreciate it when folks advocate and rank an application or
post comments - that helps people to know that there is a better
chance that it will work for them.

We're thinking of ways to better communicate this middle ground.
I think that shortly, we're going to start by promoting the
advocate ratings to a more prominent position (over our own rating).

(And yes, we know that there is danger there, so we're still
struggling with how best to mitigate the risk from the overly
nice or overly grumpy advocate).
