I too had this same install scenario, but with a slightly different
experience. Under CXO 5.0.0 Pro, Quicken 2005 Premier installed just
fine, and I have been using it extensively -- albeight Quicken's
reports are broken in spots.
I just upgraded to CXO 5.0.3 Pro, and the same Quicken 2005 Premier
installed, but the CXO installer said that there was an error and
the install failed. (I have the log file available if anybody wants
it) However, the menu entries were made, and when I run Quicken,
it seems to run the same as before.
The reason I suspect that the installer thought the install failed
is this: upon installation, Quicken's installer program asks if
you want to run Quicken immediately. Well my finances are important
and I needed to point the program to where my data was mounted, so
of course I wanted to run it right away and check it out. When I
was done, I just exited the program -- I'll bet that the program's
exit code was such that the CXO installer thought there was a problem
indicated such (remember I was running as root, not a regular user
at the time). Another possibility is that no KDE desktop item was
was created for root -- maybe the CXO installer had a problem writing
it. However, the desktop item and menu items were created just fine
for regular users, and I always manually delete the desktop and menu
items for root anyway.
