(ARGH!! this damned list that doesn't reply-to correctly!)
Well, I tested the 2006 version of TaxAct under CXO 6.0 beta3, and while
it installed OK (the way every other version has except for the state of
Wine last year), starting the app immediately brings up an error message
"Failed to create empty document", and once you click on the "OK", the
programme goes away.
Interestingly enough, it runs, prints, etc. with no problem with a CVS
build I built on 11/29/06. I was trying to find what you would need for
debugging info to find what fails here (and then track the difference in
CVS?).

I expect it's probably time to try this year's version of TaxAct, and
see if it's still borked under Wine. If so, then it will once again be
time to spell out to the folks at 2nd Story Software just *why* I won't
be doing business with them again.
