[cw-discuss] Crossover won't install anything MS including IE 6, IE5, Office 2000

I have not been able to get CX 5.03 (standard lokki) to install and run 
anything MS.  I have been successful with Photoshop 7.

When I try IE 6 it locks the machine on DCom 95.  When I try office 2000 
it hangs somewhere in the middle.  I'd like to try to experiment and try 
to install just Word or just Excel, except all the icons on the 
installer are black and I can't try to install one component at a time. 

I get no messages, just locks up the whole machine.   After a reboot, CX 
thinks office is installed and yet won't let me uninstall.  I have to 
uninstall CX to try something else.

I don't really know what to try.

I'm running 32 bit Ubuntu Dapper 6.06, 2.6.15-27-686
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800
