We'll update the web page shortly, so I'll just post the info here for now.

First of all, though, just to be clear: we hope and intend for CrossOver
to run on every Linux distribution, and for the most part, it does.
The greatest difficulty when it doesn't work is almost always that
the menu system or associations don't work right. And I have a bit
of an attitude that if you want to use Gentoo, then you can live with
the command line...

However, we do have an official list of 'tested' platforms. These
are platforms that we test against prior to release, and make sure
that each of these platforms passes at least some basic measure
of functionality. Further, because we have test rigs for them,
our ability to support them is greater. (So if your distro isn't on
this list, we'll still listen, but we may not be able to solve your
problem as readily as if it is on this list).

For 6.0, the good news is that we've added 64 bit test platforms,
and now test on both 32 bit and 64 bit for each platform.
The bad news is that doubling of our test requirements has meant
we have to cut down on our list of supported distros.

Finally, there are two lists: distros we support and test directly,
and distros that are well supported because of the testing and
work done by our partners. In the latter case, that means that
if you get the package from one of Xandros or Linspire, you can
feel pretty confident it will work well. But that's only for
packages from them; our 'pure' packages may not work so well out
of the box.

The ones we are testing against for 6.0 are as follows:

  Fedora Core 5 and 6
  openSUSE 10.1
  Red Hat Workstation 4
  SUSE Linux Desktop 10
  Ubuntu 6.06 and 6.10

Our official test platform is against updated versions only,
each updated roughly on December 1, 2006.

We test both KDE and Gnome, .rpm/.deb/.loki formats, in both
32 bit and 64 bit flavors. (Before you get mad at me for excluding
your Linux, multiply that out and imagine how much fun we have testing.)

Note that Debian is not on that list, but a lot of our developers
run Debian, so it's a pretty safe bet as well.

Cheers,

Jeremy
