Neither. I gave up and just run Windows for all my trading accounts -
Schwab & thinkorswim, along with Trading Solutions. TOS is completely
java based and I couldn't get it to work on Gentoo even with TOS
technical support and they tried pretty hard. I run both Blackdown and
Sun. Neither worked. INVESTools web site is very java based and it
only worked marginally well.
No direct experience with Scott Trade but I expect you're better off
trusting your money to the OS the trading platform was developed for.
IMHO it's not worth the risk. If I was going to do it I'd paper trade
on the Linux platform for a few months to be sure there weren't any
problems over time, but that's just me. I make too many trades every
day and don't need the headache.
