Hi Everyone,
I am pleased to announce that we have released
version 2.1.0 of CrossOver Plugin.
This release is primarily intended as a maintenance release;
it brings forward some of the internal system changes
we made for CrossOver Office so that the Plugin should
work on all Linux distributions again.
It also has a range of bug fixes, and supports updated
versions of various plugins. A full changelog is in line, below.
Existing customers can obtain the update by visiting
www.codeweavers.com. To get the file, log in with your
email address, click on the 'My Account' tab on the upper right,
and then select 'My Downloads' from the tab in the
left hand column. Customers with expired support
periods and new customers can purchase either
a new license or a support extension here:
https://www.codeweavers.com/site/store/
(if you're a returning customer be sure to log in to
take advantage of special deals for returning customers).
Note that this version does not support Quicktime 6.5, but it
more gracefully offers version 6.3 to end users.
We are working on a proper fix for 6.5, but felt that the
bug fixes in this release were critical enough that
we should not wait any longer. We do continue working
on Quicktime 6.5.
Since this is largely a maintenance release, I would
strongly recommend to anyone with a stable and working
configuration to wait a while before updating. That
will give us time to shake out any problems and concerns.
If you encounter problems or issues, please contact us
at plugin-support@codeweavers.com. However, please note that
we will have reduced staff available for the next few days,
so bear with us as we will be slow in responding.
I realize this is an odd time to cut a software release, but
we felt that the bug fixes in here were critical enough
to justify this release (Plugin 2.0.2 does not run on a number
of 'new' distributions) -- but that doesn't
mean folks with working configurations should feel any
hurry to upgrade.
For those of you that celebrate Christmas, please consider
this your Christmas gift. For the rest of you, consider it
a gift for the New Year <grin>.
Once again, we deeply appreciate all the support our customers
have given us throughout the year; your support has enabled
us to continue to thrive in 2003. And we're looking
forward to really getting cooking in 2004...<grin>
Cheers,
Jeremy White
